LEADERSHIP STARTS WITH REAL EXPERIENCE

The BOSS Junior Project Leadership Program gives young volunteers under age 18 an opportunity to develop leadership, professional, and project-management skills while supporting the mission of BOSS Athletics Incorporated. Participants work on supervised, age-appropriate projects that support real organizational goals while learning to plan, communicate, collaborate, solve problems, and take responsibility for meaningful work.

WHAT JUNIOR LEADERS DO

Development Tracks

Junior volunteers contribute to real BOSS Athletics projects through supervised, age-appropriate assignments.

• Project planning and task tracking
• Photography and approved event media
• Community outreach and sponsorship support
• Fundraising activities
• Sports clinics, camps, and special events
• Administrative and operations support
• Guest and participant support
• Faith-based programs and service initiatives

Each participant is assigned a role and development track based on individual interests, strengths, program needs, and readiness.

Participants in this track may help identify potential community partners, prepare approved outreach materials, track communications, support event photography, organize project information, and assist with project completion.

Example Role: Junior Community Engagement & Media Ambassador

Additional roles and development tracks will be introduced as the program grows.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

  1. Submit the BOSS Athletics Volunteer Application.

  2. Provide required parent or guardian information.

  3. Complete an interview and program orientation.

  4. Receive an assigned role, development track, and adult supervisor.

  5. Begin a provisional period of supervised participation.

  6. Complete learning activities and real project assignments.

  7. Track service hours, responsibilities, and accomplishments.

  8. Receive progress evaluations and constructive feedback.

MEASURING GROWTH

• Knowledge and understanding
• Application of learned skills
• Consistency and dependability
• Professionalism and communication
• Leadership and accountability

Participants may build a portfolio containing project plans, completed deliverables, service records, evaluations, presentations, and documented accomplishments. These experiences can support future résumés, applications, leadership opportunities, and career development.

PARENT AND GUARDIAN PARTNERSHIP

Parent or guardian participation is required for junior volunteers. Before placement, BOSS Athletics must receive all required permissions, emergency information, and applicable media authorization.

Program participation is based on available projects, appropriate supervision, organizational needs, and each applicant’s readiness.

BECOME A JUNIOR BOSS LEADER

Ready to gain experience, serve the community, and develop skills that extend beyond the classroom?

Complete the BOSS Athletics Volunteer Application and select “Yes” when asked whether the applicant is under 18. The application will automatically open the junior volunteer pathway.
